Regardless of your starting place, we have your aromatherapy education needs covered. These days, it seems as though essential oils are popping up everywhere, along with rampant misinformation, wild claims and unethical remedies. With so much conflicting information out there it can be hard to know who to trust and what to believe.
Aromatherapy is an unregulated field in the United States and therefore it’s critical to learn about essential oils and aromatics from qualified, unbiased and educated practitioners. The closest regulating body the Aromatherapy Industry has to licensure is the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC), a non- profit independent organization that designates aromatherapists as a Registered Aromatherapist (RA) once they have completed 200+ hours from approved institutions and successfully passed the ARC board examination. Venessa is a Registered Aromatherapists (RA) in the state of Pennsylvania and former public school teacher with over a decade of teaching experience including a Graduate degree in Education. She is an approved NCBTMB educator. Passionate about sharing her love of aromatics and educating the public on the safe and responsible use of aromatics, she is not affiliated with any essential oil company or brand nor does not sell essential oils. Instead of aligning herself with a particular essential oil company, Venessa has dedicated the past five years to learning about aromatherapy from as many vintage aromatherapists, leaders and experts in the field as possible. Her mission is to educate others to safely and responsibly harness the power of aromatherapy for themselves.
Upcoming Classes Include:
Aromatherapy & the Mind: Using Aromatherapy for Stress, Relief & Relaxation 2.5 Credits (150 minutes)
By understanding how aromatics can affect the mood and emotions, and which aromatics and delivery methods are most effective for this purpose, students will feel empowered to select the aromatics best suited for their own health and well being. We will review over twenty-five essential oils to identify which essential oils can help to relieve stress and enhance relaxation. We discuss which essential oil constituents contain anxiolytic, sedating, calming and grounding properties and review blending and safe practices for the use of essential oils and aromatics (dilution, safety, materials & tools, etc). This class will provide students with the tools necessary to select essential oils and methods that will best enhance stress relief and relaxation. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to create their own stress relieving blend, and prepare a formula that combines mood enhancing essential oils; employing the “Individual Prescription” method for their own self care.
*This class is eligible for 2.5 continuing education credits from NCBTMB. Certificates will be issued to those who qualify.
